Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
OathReady(“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using OathReady, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive basic account information from Google to create your account:
- Your name and email address
- Your Google profile photo (if available)
- A unique account identifier
As you use the app, we store the data needed to provide the service:
- Your practice test attempts, scores and history
- Per-question statistics (e.g. which questions you've answered and got right or wrong)
- Your preferences (such as theme and test settings)
- If you join a study circle, your membership and the display name/photo shared with that circle
The free practice test does not require an account, and we do not tie anonymous practice to your identity.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small cookie to remember your light/dark theme so pages load correctly, and your browser's local storage to cache your settings for a faster experience. These are essential to how the site works. If we introduce advertising in the future, we will update this policy and provide any consent controls required by law before any advertising cookies are used.
How we use your information
- To provide and personalize the app (save your progress, tailor practice, track mistakes)
- To operate, maintain and improve the service
- To communicate with you if you contact us
We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We rely on trusted third parties to run the service:
- Google Firebase — authentication and database (stores your account and progress).
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
These providers process data on our behalf and may store it on servers outside Canada. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics and, in the future, advertising or newcomer-resource partners; this policy will be updated to reflect any such changes.
Data retention
We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see below).
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To do so, email us at hello@oathready.ca. You can also stop using the service and sign out at any time.
Children
The service is intended for people preparing for the Canadian citizenship test and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
