What works like the real test
- 20 questions, multiple choice and true or false, drawn at random from every topic in Discover Canada.
- A 45-minute clock that keeps running and cannot be paused, a warning at five minutes, and automatic submission when time runs out.
- The "Question 6 of 20" layout, Previous and Next buttons, and a grid of all 20 questions coloured by answered, not answered and to be reviewed.
- The "I want to review this answer later" checkbox, which only works once you have picked an answer.
- Submit stays locked until every question has an answer, then a final "Submit your test" page warns you it cannot be undone.
- No right or wrong answers during the test, and a results page that shows only your score.
- A warning if you switch to another tab, and a language switch between English and French that keeps your answers.
What is different
- There is no sign-in with an application number or UCI, and no ID or face photos. The simulator never uses your webcam.
- This is practice made by OathReady, an independent project. It is not affiliated with IRCC, and it is not the official test.
- After your score, you can review every answer with an explanation. The real test never shows which questions you got wrong.

Simulator FAQ
Is this the official IRCC citizenship test?
No. It is a free simulator built by OathReady to look and behave like IRCC's online test, so the real one feels familiar. Your official test is taken on IRCC's own platform, through the link in your invitation.
How long is the online citizenship test?
The online test has 20 questions and you have 45 minutes. You need at least 15 correct answers to pass. Most people finish well before the time is up.
Can I go back and change my answers?
Yes. Until you submit, you can move between questions with the Previous and Next buttons or the question grid, and change any answer. Once you confirm the submission, it is final.
Can I switch between English and French during the test?
Yes. On the real test, the language link at the top switches the questions and screens without changing your answers. The simulator works the same way.
What happens if the time runs out?
Your test is submitted automatically with the answers you chose. Any question left unanswered counts as wrong.
